Cool Highlights from PopOut 07
It was a great turn of of TDM's Popout!07. Here are some of our selected highlights from PopOut! 07.
Ross Veitch of Bezurk gave a great speech on what is Bezurk is all about, some technical details and most importantly what he wish he had known before starting out with this start up.
One of the great lesson learnt from Bezurk, keep development inside as you will waste more time and money getting someone else to build your online product.
Bezurk is one of the best start up outside of USA according to now defunct Business2.0 (read more here)
Next we move to the energetic Eric Chia from the social website Quaffs. He was the most energetic of the presenter. Working the stage ala motivation guru. It was more of a product showcase of what Quaffs current and future features are. The cool thing about Quaffs is the partnership with its vendor to provide users with the ability to buy the Product of Desire with Quaffs dollar or very low price.
Finally our favourite and I am sure he is the crowd favourite, Herry of Book Jetty. The at first inaudible presentation slowly built momentum as Herry showcase his passion for his project. This self-funded, boot -strapped website is really a great example what a solo entrepreneur+ hard work + creative can do.
There is too much to say about how cool bookjetty is, that is something you have to try it out for yourself.
For photos, you can view it here.
PS. Oh ya, my good friend, Joe went home with the new Ipod Nano. Congrats

Launch Of TuneMoney.com
TuneMoney.com was launched today on the 20 September 2007 in Sime Darby Convention Centre in Bukit Kiara by its founders and CEO Tengku Zafrul. It was officiated by Malaysia's second Minister of Finance.
This is the first phrase of the launch of Asia's First no Frills Financial Portal which will be followed by its prepaid credit card and unit trust in October and November respectively.
Its main product at the moment is insurance which you can customized to your own personal requirement.
For example (as mentioned by TuneMoney), if you have a house on top of the hill, you do not need flood protection. Its cost will be 30% lower than current market rates.
I think this will be an interesting product which will serve a group of people which normal insurance company do not consider eligible. I hope to see this service expand to other parts of this region.
We will be looking forward for the prepaid credit card which hopefully will be a boost to Malaysia's e-commerce among the current non consumers.
